scriptures page, stuff that speaks to me.

This page will present certain passages from books of the Bible that immediately spoke to me.  So I am going to post them down below because i just want to.  There is no fancied explanation to my reasoning, besides the fact that I just want to do this very much.

 So just sit back and watch me do it.  (By the way, all of the below wil probably change shortly.)

1 John, chapter 1

[1]: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life --

[2]: the life was made manifest, and we saw it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was made manifest to us --

[3]: that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. [4]: And we are writing this that our joy may be complete.

[5]: This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.

[6]: If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth;

[7]: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

[8]: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

[9]: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10]: If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Romans Chpt.7 21-23

[21]: So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand.

[22]: For I delight in the law of God, in my inmost self,

[23]: but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin which dwells in my members.

1 Samuel, chapter 2: 2-10

[2]: There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. [3]: Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. [4]: The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength. [5]: They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble. [6]: The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. [7]: The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. [8]: He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them. [9]: He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. [10]: The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

1 Timothy, chapter 1

[1]: Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,

[2]: To Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

[3]: As I urged you when I was go ing to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine,

[4]: nor to occupy themselves with myths and endless genealogies which promote speculations rather than the divine training that is in faith;

[5]: whereas the aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and sincere faith.

[6]: Certain persons by swerving from these have wandered away into vain discussion,

[7]: desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make assertions.

[8]: Now we know that the law is good, if any one uses it lawfully,

[9]: understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, [10]: immoral persons, sodomites, kidnapers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,

[11]: in accordance with the glorious gospel of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.

[12]: I thank him who has given me strength for this, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful by appointing me to his service,

[13]: though I formerly blasphemed and persecuted and insulted him; but I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,

[14]: and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

[15]: The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I am the foremost of sinners;

[16]: but I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience for an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.

[17]: To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

[18]: This charge I commit to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophetic utterances which pointed to you, that inspired by them you may wage the good warfare,

[19]: holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting conscience, certain persons have made shipwreck of their faith,

[20]: among them Hymenae’us and Alexander, whom I have delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.

1 Timothy, chapter 2

[1]: First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men,

[2]: for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way.

[3]: This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, [4]: who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

[5]: For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

[6]: who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony to which was borne at the proper time.

[7]: For this I was appointed a preacher and apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. [8]: I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;

[9]: also that women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly attire

[10]: but by good deeds, as befits women who profess religion.

[11]: Let a woman learn in silence with all submissiveness.

[12]: I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent.

[13]: For Adam was formed first, then Eve;

[14]: and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.

[15]: Yet woman will be saved through bearing children, if she continues in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.

1 Timothy, chapter 4

[1]: Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,

[2]: through the pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared,

[3]: who forbid marriage and enjoin abstinence from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

[4]: For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving;

[5]: for then it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

[6]: If you put these instructions before the brethren, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the words of the faith and of the good doctrine which you have followed. [7]: Have nothing to do with godless and silly myths. Train yourself in godliness;

[8]: for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

[9]: The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance.

[10]: For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. [11]: Command and teach these things.

[12]: Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

[13]: Till I come, attend to the public reading of scripture, to preaching, to teaching.

[14]: Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophetic utterance when the council of elders laid their hands upon you.

[15]: Practice these duties, devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress.

[16]: Take heed to yourself and to your teaching; hold to that, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.

1 Timothy, chapter 6

[3]: If any one teaches otherwise and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching which accords with godliness,

[4]: he is puffed up with conceit, he knows nothing; he has a morbid craving for controversy and for disputes about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, base suspicions,

[5]: and wrangling among men who are depraved in mind and bereft of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.

[6]: There is great gain in godliness with contentment;

[7]: for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world;

[8]: but if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

[9]: But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and hurtful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.

[10]: For the love of money is the root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced their hearts with many pangs.

[11]: But as for you, man of God, shun all this; aim at righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.

[12]: Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

[13]: In the presence of God who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession,

[14]: I charge you to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ;

[15]: and this will be made manifest at the proper time by the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,

[16]: who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

[17]: As for the rich in this world, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on uncertain riches but on God who richly furnishes us with everything to enjoy.

[18]: They are to do good, to be rich in good deeds, liberal and generous,

[19]: thus laying up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of the life which is life indeed.

[20]: O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the godless chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge,

[21]: for by professing it some have missed the mark as regards the faith. Grace be with you.

2 Timothy, chapter 1

[6]: Hence I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is within you through the laying on of my hands;

[7]: for God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self-control.

[8]: Do not be ashamed then of testifying to our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel in the power of God,

[9]: who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not in virtue of our works but in virtue of his own purpose and the grace which he gave us in Christ Jesus ages ago,

[10]: and now has manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

[11]: For this gospel I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher,

[12]: and therefore I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am sure that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.

[13]: Follow the pattern of the sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus;

[14]: guard the truth that has been entrusted to you by the Holy Spirit who dwells within us.

2 Timothy, chapter 2

[3]: Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

[4]: No soldier on service gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to satisfy the one who enlisted him.

[5]: An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

[6]: It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.

[7]: Think over what I say, for the Lord will grant you understanding in everything.

[8]: Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David, as preached in my gospel,

[9]: the gospel for which I am sufering and wearing fetters like a criminal. But the word of God is not fettered.

[10]: Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain salvation in Christ Jesus with its eternal glory.

[11]: The saying is sure:

If we have died with him, we shall also live with him;

[12]:

if we endure, we shall also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us;

[13]:

if we are faithless, he remains faithful

for he cannot deny himself.

[14]: Remind them of this, and charge them before the Lord to avoid disputing about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers.

[15]: Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

[16]: Avoid such godless chatter, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,

[17]: and their talk will eat its way like gangrene. Among them are Hymenae’us and Phile’tus,

[18]: who have swerved from the truth by holding that the resurrection is past already. They are upsetting the faith of some.

[19]: But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity."

[20]: In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and earthenware, and some for noble use, some for ignoble.

[21]: If any one purifies himself from what is ignoble, then he will be a vessel for noble use, consecrated and useful to the master of the house, ready for any good work.

[22]: So shun youthful passions and aim at righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart.

[23]: Have nothing to do with stupid, senseless controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.

[24]: And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kindly to every one, an apt teacher, forbearing,

[25]: correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant that they will repent and come to know the truth,

[26]: and they may escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

2 Timothy, chapter 3

[1]: But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of stress.

[2]: For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

[3]: inhuman, implacable, slanderers, profligates, fierce, haters of good, [4]: treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

[5]: holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Avoid such people.

[6]: For among them are those who make their way into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and swayed by various impulses,

[7]: who will listen to anybody and can never arrive at a knowledge of the truth.

[8]: As Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of corrupt mind and counterfeit faith;

[9]: but they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.

[10]: Now you have observed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness,

[11]: my persecutions, my sufferings, what befell me at Antioch, at Ico’nium, and at Lystra, what persecutions I endured; yet from them all the Lord rescued me. [12]: Indeed all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

[13]: while evil men and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceivers and deceived.

[14]: But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it

[15]: and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. [16]: All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

[17]: that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy, chapter 4

[1]: I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:

[2]: preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching.

teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings,

[4]: and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.

[5]: As for you, always be steady, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.

[6]: For I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come.

[7]: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept

the faith.

[8]: Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

2 John chpt. 1

[9]: Any one who goes ahead and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the doctrine has both the Father and the Son. [10]: If any one comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into the house or give him any greeting;

[11]: for he who greets him shares his wicked work.

[12]: Though I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink, but I hope to come to see you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.

2nd Corinthians

Chpt.1

[5]: For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.

[6]: If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer.

9]: Why, we felt that we had received the sentence of death; but that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead;

[10]: he delivered us from so deadly a peril, and he will deliver us; on him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.

12]: For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience that we have behaved in the world, and still more toward you, with holiness and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God.

[17]: Was I vacillating when I wanted to do this? Do I make my plans like a worldly man, ready to say Yes and No at once?

[18]: As surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been Yes and No.

[19]: For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we preached among you, Silva’nus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No; but in him it is always Yes.

[20]: For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why we utter the Amen through him, to the glory of God

Chpt 2.

9]: For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything.

[10]: Any one whom you forgive, I also forgive. What I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ,

[11]: to keep Satan from gaining the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his designs.

[14]: But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.

[15]: For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,

16]: to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

[17]: For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word; but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

Chpt 3.

[1]: Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you?

[2]: You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on your hearts, to be known and read by all men;

[3]: and you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

[4]: Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God.

[5]: Not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us; our competence is from God,

[6]: who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not in a written code but in the Spirit; for the written code kills, but the Spirit gives life.

[11]: For if what faded away came with splendor, what is permanent must have much more splendor.

[12]: Since we have such a hope, we are very bold,

[13]: not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not see the end of the fading splendor.

14]: But their minds were hardened; for to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away.

[15]: Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their minds;

[16]: but when a man turns to the Lord the veil is removed.

[17]: Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

[18]: And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being changed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

3 John, chapter 1

[1]: The elder to the beloved Ga’ius, whom I love in the truth.

[2]: Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in health; I know that it is well with your soul.

[3]: For I greatly rejoiced when some of the brethren arrived and testified to the truth of your life, as indeed you do follow the truth.

[4]: No greater joy can I have than this, to hear that my children follow the truth.

[5]: Beloved, it is a loyal thing you do when you render any service to the brethren, especially to strangers,

[6]: who have testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their journey as befits God’s service.

[7]: For they have set out for his sake and have accepted nothing from the heathen.

[8]: So we ought to support such men, that we may be fellow workers in the truth.

[9]: I have written something to the church; but Diot’rephes, who likes to put himself first, does not acknowledge my authority.

[10]: So if I come, I will bring up what he is doing, prating against me with evil words. And not content with that, he refuses himself to welcome the brethren, and also stops those who want to welcome them and puts them out of the church.

[11]: Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. He who does good is of God; he who does evil has not seen God.

[12]: Deme’trius has testimony from every one, and from the truth itself; I testify to him too, and you know my testimony is true.

[13]: I had much to write to you, but I would rather not write with pen and ink;

[14]: I hope to see you soon, and we will talk together face to face.

[15]: Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends, every one of them.

Hebrews chpt.1

[2]: but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.

[3]: He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high

13]: But to what angel has he ever said,

"Sit at my right hand,

till I make thy enemies

a stool for thy feet"?

[14]: Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation?

Chpt. 2

1]: Therefore we must pay the closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.

[3]: how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard him,

[4]: while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his own will.

[5]: For it was not to angels that God subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking.

[8]: putting everything in subjection under his feet."

Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. As it is, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.

[9]: But we see Jesus, who for a little while was made lower than the angels, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for every one.

[10]: For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through suffering.

[11]: For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified have all one origin. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brethren, [12]: saying,

"I will proclaim thy name to my brethren,

in the midst of the congregation I will praise thee."

[14]: Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same nature, that through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil,

[15]: and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong bondage.

[16]: For surely it is not with angels that he is concerned but with the descendants of Abraham.

[17]: Therefore he had to be made like his brethren in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make expiation for the sins of the people.

[18]: For because he himself has suffered and been tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

Chpt.3

1]: Therefore, holy brethren, who share in a heavenly call, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.

[2]: He was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in God’s house.

[3]: Yet Jesus has been counted worthy of as much more glory than Moses as the builder of a house has more honor than the house.

[4]: (For every house is built by some one, but the builder of all things is God.)

[5]: Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later,

[6]: but Christ was faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house if we hold fast our confidence and pride in our hope.

[7]: Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today, when you hear his voice,

[8]:

do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,

on the day of testing in the wilderness,

10]:

Therefore I was provoked with that generation,and said, ‘They always go astray in their hearts;

they have not known my ways.’

[11]:

As I swore in my wrath,

‘They shall never enter my rest.’"

[12]: Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.

[13]: But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

14]: For we share in Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end

16]: Who were they that heard and yet were rebellious? Was it not all those who left Egypt under the leadership of Moses?

[18]: And to whom did he swear that they should never enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

[19]: So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.

Philippians, chapter 1

Verses 23-30

[23]: I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

[24]: But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.

[25]: Convinced of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith,

[26]: so that in me you may have ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus, because of my coming to you again.

[27]: Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you stand firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,

[28]: and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear omen to them of their destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God.

[29]: For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,

[30]: engaged in the same conflict which you saw and now hear to be mine.

Philippians, chapter 2

[1]: So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any incentive of love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy,

[2]: complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

[3]: Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count others better than yourselves.

[4]: Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

[5]: Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

[6]: who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,

[7]: but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. [8]: And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross.

[9]: Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name,

[10]: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

[11]: and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

[12]: Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

[13]: for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

[14]: Do all things without grumbling or questioning,

[15]: that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

[16]: holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

Psalm Chpt. 8

[1]: O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. [2]: Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. [3]: When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; [4]: What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? [5]: For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. [6]: Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: [7]: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; [8]: The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. [9]: O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Psalms, psalm 9

[1]: I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. [2]: I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. [3]: When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence. [4]: For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right. [5]: Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever. [6]: O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them. [7]: But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment. [8]: And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. [9]: The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. [10]: And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. [11]: Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings. [12]: When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble. [13]: Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death: [14]: That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation. [15]: The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken. [16]: The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. [17]: The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. [18]: For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever. [19]: Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight. [20]: Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.

Romans Chtp.8 28-39

[28]: We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.

[29]: For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many brethren.

[30]: And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified.

[31]: What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us?

[32]: He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him?

[33]: Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies;

[34]: who is to condemn? Is it Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us?

[35]: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

[36]: As it is written,

"For thy sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered."

[37]: No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

[38]: For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

[39]: nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Titus, chapter 1

[1]: Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth which accords with godliness,

[2]: in hope of eternal life which God, who never lies, promised ages ago

[3]: and at the proper time man fested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by command of God our Savior;

[4]: To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

[5]: This is why I left you in Crete, that you might amend what was defective, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you,

[6]: if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of being profligate or insubordinate.

[7]: For a bishop, as God’s steward, must be blameless; he must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain,

[8]: but hospitable, a lover of goodness, master of himself, upright, holy, and self-controlled;

[9]: he must hold firm to the sure word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to confute those who contradict it. [10]: For there are many insubordinate men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially the circumcision party;

[11]: they must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for base gain what they have no right to teach.

[12]: One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."

[13]: This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, [14]: instead of giving heed to Jewish myths or to commands of men who reject the truth.

[15]: To the pure all things are pure, but to the corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure; their very minds and consciences are corrupted.

[16]: They profess to know God, but they deny him by their deeds; they are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good deed.

Titus, chapter 2

[1]: But as for you, teach what befits sound doctrine.

[2]: Bid the older men be temperate, serious, sensible, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.

[3]: Bid the older women likewise to be reverent in behavior, not to be slanderers or slaves to drink; they are to teach what is good,

[4]: and so train the young women to love their husbands and chidren,

[5]: to be sensible, chaste, domestic, kind, and submissive to their husbands, that the word of God may not be discredited.

[6]: Likewise urge the younger men to control themselves.

[7]: Show yourself in all respects a model of good deeds, and in your teaching show integrity, gravity,

[8]: and sound speech that cannot be censured, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say of us.

[9]: Bid slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect; they are not to be refractory,

[10]: nor to pilfer, but to show entire and true fidelity, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

[11]: For the grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all men,

[12]: training us to renounce irreligion and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this world,

[13]: awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

[14]: who gave himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.

[15]: Declare these things; exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

Titus, chapter 3

[1]: Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for any honest work,

[2]: to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all men.

[3]: For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by men and hating one another;

[4]: but when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,

[5]: he saved us, not because of deeds done by us in righteousness, but in virtue of his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit,

[6]: which he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

[7]: so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life.

[8]: The saying is sure. I desire you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to apply themselves to good deeds; these are excellent and profitable to men.

[9]: But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels over the law, for they are unprofitable and futile.

[10]: As for a man who is factious, after admonishing him once or twice, have nothing more to do with him,

[11]: knowing that such a person is perverted and sinful; he is self-condemned.

[12]: When I send Artemas or Tych’icus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicop’olis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.

[13]: Do your best to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apol’los on their way; see that they lack nothing.

[14]: And let our people learn to apply themselves to good deeds, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not to be unfruitful.

[15]: All who are with me send greetings to you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.

James chpt.3

[1]: Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, for you know that we who teach shall be judged with greater strictness.

[2]: For we all make many mistakes, and if any one makes no mistakes in what he says he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.

[13]: Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good life let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.

[14]: But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.

[15]: This wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, devilish.

[16]: For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.

[17]: But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or insincerity.

[18]: And the harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

James chpt.4

1]: What causes wars, and what causes fightings among you? Is it not your passions that are at war in your members?

[2]: You desire and do not have; so you kill. And you covet and cannot obtain; so you fight and wage war. You do not have, because you do not ask.

3]: You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.

8]: Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you men of double mind.

9]: Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to dejection.

[10]: Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.

[11]: Do not speak evil against one another, brethren. He that speaks evil against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

12]: There is one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you that you judge your neighbor?

Chpt.5

[9]: Do not grumble, brethren, against one another, that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the doors.

[10]: As an example of suffering and patience, brethren, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

[10]: As an example of suffering and patience, brethren, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

11]: Behold, we call those happy who were steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

12]: There is one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you that you judge your neighbor?

[13]: Is any one among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise.

[14]: Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

[15]: and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

[16]: Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects.

[17]: Eli’jah was a man of like na-ture with ourselves and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.

[18]: Then he prayed again and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth its fruit.
